“On behalf of Ford Thailand, we are extremely honored and would like to thank the TAJA committees. Winning the 2015 Thailand Car of the Year award is truly proud achievement for us and encourages our Ford team to continue delivering word-class vehicles,” said Yukontorn ‘Vickie’ Wisadkosin, managing director, Ford Thailand.

“The all-new Everest, launched in March 2015, represents our commitment to delivering vehicles that are fully equipped with a range of innovative features. This vehicle truly reflects its slogan of being ‘Engineered for the Extraordinary’ and its impressive driving capabilities are made possible by Ford’s powerful engine technologies that deliver excellent performance.”

“We believe this award is also a result of our world-class design and manufacturing, as well as our leadership in advanced technologies that make Ford vehicles some of the smartest in the market,” Yukontorn added.

This was the inaugural year for TAJA’s Thailand Car of the Year award, which aims to support Thailand’s automotive industry to become the global standard, as well as to provide information to the general public for their purchase decision. The criteria for assessing vehicles include driving performance, comfort, design, safety, eco-friendliness and value for money.

To quality for consideration, vehicles must be local-assembled new models, launched within the preceding 12 months, with domestic sales of at least 500 units according to the number of registered vehicles provided by Department of Land Transport.
