What is Diesel Exhaust Fluid and how do I view my levels in FordPass?
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), also known as Adblue®, is a liquid used to reduce the amount of air pollution created by a diesel engine. You can view your DEF levels on the Service screen of the FordPass app.
Note: To operate correctly, the Adblue tank of your EcoBlue diesel engine must be filled with Adblue fluid.
Requirements for FordPass
- You must have a vehicle added to the app.
- Your vehicle must have the FordPass Connect modem.
- The feature is only available on select Diesel vehicles. See the first drop-down option below for more information.
- Your embedded modem must be activated.

Eligible Vehicles
The following year and model vehicles are eligible to view DEF levels in FordPass:
- 2024 Everest
- 2024 Everest Short Wheel Base
- 2024 Ranger Raptor (Diesel)
Viewing Diesel Exhaust Fluid in FordPass
To view your DEF levels in FordPass:
- Log in to the FordPass app.
- Go to the Service screen.
- Locate the Diesel Exhaust Fluid tile.
Your current percentage should appear.
