What is Diesel Exhaust Fluid and how do I view my levels in the Ford app?
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), also known as Adblue®, is a liquid used to reduce the amount of air pollution created by a diesel engine. You can view your DEF levels on the Service dashboard of the Ford app.
Note: To operate correctly, the Adblue tank of your EcoBlue diesel engine must be filled with Adblue fluid.
Requirements for Ford App Access
- You must have a vehicle added to the Ford app.
- Your vehicle must be equipped with a modem.
- The feature is only available on select Diesel vehicles. See the first drop-down option below for more information.
- Your embedded modem must be activated.
Eligible Vehicles
The following model year vehicles are eligible to view Diesel Exhaust Fluid levels in the Ford app:
- 2024 Ford Everest
- 2024 Ford Everest Short Wheelbase
- 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor (Diesel)
Viewing Diesel Exhaust Fluid Levels
To view your Diesel Exhaust Fluid levels in the Ford app, follow the steps below.
- Log in to the Ford app.
- Select the Tool icon to go to the Service dashboard.
- Locate the Diesel Exhaust Fluid section under the tire pressure image.
Your current percentage should appear.
Note: If your Diesel Exhaust Fluid level is low, the symbol will appear in yellow to warn you it is at a cautionary level, or red for a critical level.
