How do I extend the remote start run time for my Ford vehicle?

To extend your vehicle's remote start run time:

Note: To use this function, your initial start must be requested from the Ford app and not your keyfob. 

1. Log in to the Ford app.
2. Select the option that applies to your vehicle:
   • Remote Start (Internal Combustion Engine [ICE] Vehicles and Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles [PHEVs])
   • Preconditioning (Battery Electric Vehicles [BEVs] only)
3. Select the Extend button from the in-app notification.

If you experience any issues, contact Ford app support using the Account > Contact Help options in the Ford app. 

Use the following steps for in-vehicle setting changes:

1. Start your vehicle.
2. Select Settings using the directional pad on your steering wheel.
3. Navigate to Advanced Settings.
4. Tap OK.
5. Navigate to Vehicle.
6. Press OK.
7. Navigate to Remote Start.
8. Tap OK.
9. Navigate to Duration.
10. Press OK.
11. Select from the three options:
    • Five minutes
    • Ten minutes
    • Fifteen minutes

Notes:

• The option that is highlighted will be the selected option.
• Once the selection is made, you can back out of this menu by pressing the left arrow on the directional pad.
