Ford Everest vehicles do not come pre-wired for a towing package, including a trailer brake module, rear bumper panel, or tow ball. The Tow/Haul Mode, however, remains functional for heavy load hauling or emergency towing situations. This includes pulling a stuck vehicle, or using the vehicle to tow a trailer or heavy objects by attaching to the vehicle's designated towing points. The animation displayed on the vehicle's instrument cluster screen, which depicts a vehicle towing an attachment, is solely an illustration of the Tow/Haul Mode's functionality and does not indicate the possibility of installing a towing package. When Tow/Haul Mode is engaged, the system automatically adjusts steering control and gear shift timing to maintain optimal power delivery. This includes engaging engine braking in forward gears and assisting in slowing the vehicle on downhill slopes. Additionally, Tow/Haul Mode helps reduce the frequency of gear shifts, providing the driver with enhanced vehicle control, increased safety, and improved comfort when towing or hauling heavy loads.
