Since the end of 2016, we have been offering to replace the clutch of vehicles experiencing issues with their PowerShift 6-speed transmission – free of cost – with the latest specification clutch which has been proven to significantly improve shift performance. We have also confirmed an additional two-year warranty extension – which includes coverage of the clutch, as well as input shaft seals, and transmission software calibration. This extension builds on previous actions that include an initial extension in 2013 on the warranty of clutch, input shaft seal, and transmission software calibration for certain vehicles, based on production date, from the industry-standard 3 years or 100,000 kilometers to 5 years or 160,000 kilometers.

We are recommending that any customers with concerns related to the performance of their PowerShift 6-speed transmission have their vehicles assessed at one of Ford’s nationwide network of 143 dealer locations. Where a clutch replacement is required, priority appointments are being given to customers to fit the latest specification clutch. Our Ford dealers nationwide are giving these customers priority in scheduling an appointment and servicing their vehicles.
