How does the tire pressure monitoring system work?
The tire pressure monitoring system or TPMS is a useful system designed to let you know if one of your tires is low on pressure.
Each wheel is fitted with a sensor that, when your vehicle is on, reports the tire pressure to the car's computer. If one or more of your tires has low pressure, the system will display an indicator light on the dashboard. You will then need to check the pressure of each tire.
If you have your spare wheel fitted, or there is an issue with any of the sensors, the indicator light will flash on start-up, before remaining illuminated while the vehicle is on.
