How do I turn off automatic software updates with SYNC®* 4A?

To turn off automatic updates:

  1. Tap the Vehicle icon on your SYNC screen.
  2. Select Systems Update.
  3. Toggle the Automatic Updates option to OFF. A confirmation pop-up will appear.
  4. Tap Continue. 

Important Information

If automatic updates are set to "Off," your vehicle will not automatically download and install software updates. This prevents Ford from delivering software updates designed to improve your vehicle over time.

Disabling automatic updates means you will need to manually accept each software update as it becomes available for your vehicle. The system will not be able to perform updates automatically.
