How to select the correct fuel?
The fuel recommendations provided by the manufacturer are related to fuel quality and rating requirements, not specific fuel brands. The quality and rating recommendations are important for maximising vehicle performance. Check your fuel filler door or select the vehicle model from the Owner’s Manual Information section below and we will search the relevant owner’s manual for you, to see Ford's recommendation for your specific vehicle, and always heed this recommendation in order to maximise engine performance, service life and even fuel economy.
Selecting the Correct Fuel - Diesel
Use diesel that meets the specification defined by EN 590 or the relevant national specification.
Note:
- For the Vietnam market, use DO 0.001S-V Diesel.
Your vehicle is suitable for use with biodiesel blends up to 20% B20. - Only use high quality fuel. Do not use aftermarket fuel additives or other engine treatments.
- Do not use additional additives to prevent fuel waxing.
WARNING:
- Do not mix diesel with gasoline, gasohol or alcohol. This could cause an explosion.
- Do not use leaded gasoline or gasoline with additives containing other metallic compounds, for example manganese-based. They could damage the emission system.
Selecting the Correct Fuel - Gasoline
Use minimum 95 octane unleaded gasoline that meets the specification defined by EN 228 or the equivalent national specification.
Your vehicle is suitable for use with ethanol blends up to 10% (E5 and E10).
Note: We recommend that you only use high quality fuel. We do not recommend the use of aftermarket fuel additives or other engine treatments.
