How do I adjust the head rest?

Learn how to properly adjust your Ford vehicle's head restraints for optimal safety and comfort. Ensure correct positioning to enhance protection for you and your passengers in the event of a collision.

The head restraints in your Ford vehicle are designed to be adjustable, providing optimal safety for drivers and passengers of various heights during a collision.

Adjusting the Head Restraint:

  • Before adjusting the head restraint, ensure your seat backrest is in an upright driving position. For maximum safety, adjust the head restraint so that its top is level with the top of your head, while maintaining comfort. If you are a taller individual, position the head restraint to its highest setting.
  • To raise the head restraint, simply pull it upwards. To lower the head restraint, press and hold the adjust and release button, then push the head restraint downwards.

Your head restraint typically consists of an energy-absorbing design, guide sleeves, and two steel stems.
