How do I access the third row seats?
Learn how to conveniently access or fold the third-row seating in your Ford vehicle for passenger entry or increased cargo space.
Accessing the third-row seats in your Ford vehicle, or folding them for additional cargo space, is designed for ease of use while prioritizing safety.
To access the third row, you will typically need to move the second-row seats. First, ensure there are no objects on the second-row seat or floor that could obstruct movement. You may also need to lower the outermost head restraint on the second-row seat. Pull the handle on the top of the second-row seat backrest to angle it forward into the easy entry position (approximately 45 degrees), then push the seat base fully forward.
To return the second-row seat, push the entire seat backward along its slides, then move the seat backrest to its original upright position until it audibly clicks into place.
Note: Always ensure the seat backrest is fully latched after returning it to the upright position. An unlatched seat can be dangerous during sudden stops or a crash. Do not place cargo behind the seat backrest before latching it.
For folding and unfolding the manual third-row seats (if equipped), first remove all objects and lower all third-row head restraints. From the rear of the vehicle, pull and hold the handle while pushing the seat backrest forward to fold it. To return it upright, pull the long strap on the seat backrest.
