What is Auto Lock?

Get to know the Automatic Locking system in Ford vehicles, a fundamental safety feature that automatically locks your car doors when you pull away. This helps prevent unexpected incidents and provides peace of mind for you and your passengers throughout your journey.

Auto Lock is a function designed to automatically lock all vehicle doors while the car is in motion to prevent accidental door opening and enhance safety while driving.

The system will activate and lock all doors for you when the following conditions are met:

  • All doors are fully closed and the engine is running.
  • The vehicle is moving at a speed exceeding 20 km/h.

Additionally, the system will perform an automatic Re-lock if the vehicle has stopped and any door is opened and then closed again. Once you resume driving and exceed a speed of 20 km/h, the system will immediately command the doors to lock.

How to Enable or Disable the System

You can manually adjust the Auto Lock settings according to your preference through the touchscreen by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Settings menu and select Vehicle.
  2. Select the Locks menu.
  3. Switch the Auto Lock function On or Off.

To ensure a clear and comprehensive understanding of the operation for your specific vehicle model, you can find additional information in your Ford Owner’s Manual to fully utilize safety technology on every journey.
