What is an Anti-Theft Alarm System?
An anti-theft alarm system is designed to protect your vehicle from theft and unauthorized access. These systems often include multiple features working together.
One key component is the Passive Anti-Theft System (Immobilizer), which prevents someone from starting the engine unless the correct, properly coded key or authorized device is used.
In addition to the immobilizer, your vehicle may be equipped with one of the following types of audible alarm systems:
- Perimeter Alarm
- Perimeter Alarm with Interior Sensors
- Category One Alarm (typically includes perimeter, interior sensors, and a battery back-up sounder)
For more specific information about your vehicle's anti-theft features, including details on the Perimeter Alarm, Interior Sensors, and the Battery Back-Up Sounder, please refer to your Owner's Manual.
