Why is my activation in progress for FordPass®?

If you requested access to remote commands, but received a pop-up confirming that your activation is in progress, this could be for a few reasons. Use the options below for more information. 

Troubleshooting the Activation in Progress Message

Select the option that best describes your issue. 

You completed all modem activation steps, but an error is causing a delay.

If you have completed all required steps and your activation remains in progress:

  1. Tap OK on the pop-up.
  2. Navigate to the Account screen. 
  3. Select Help and contact a Guide for additional support. 

You began the activation process, but you have not responded to the prompt on your in-vehicle screen.

If you have not completed the in-vehicle authorization steps:

  1. Tap OK on the pop-up.
  2. Accept the activation message on your vehicle screen.

You requested activation permission for a vehicle, but your request has not been approved.

If you requested vehicle access, your request must be approved before you can move forward. 

Tap Continue on the pop-up message and FordPass will direct you back to the Home screen. Before you can access the commands, your request has to be accepted by an activated user

You initiated your modem activation, but after 90 seconds, your status in FordPass goes back to Activate Vehicle. 

After 90 seconds you can request to activate again. If your status does not change after three attempts, contact a Guide for an escalation. 

If the troubleshooting steps are unsuccessful, contact a Guide using the Account > Help options within FordPass.
